I am trying to send Windows messages to controls in an external Delphi application. I was hoping I would be able to determine the windows handle of the controls using a combination of class name and window name in a call to findWindowEx. Unfortunately, for controls such as TComboBox and TEdit the 'window name' always seems to be blank meaning I cannot successfully locate a specific control instance.
In the case of TEdit controls it looks as though the 'window name' value corresponds to TEdit.Text rather than the TEdit.Name property I was hoping for. Is this correct and if so how can I obtain the handle to a TEdit control in an external application?
