New Lenovo T60 laptop and windows 2000 issue

Hello fellow geniuses, oh wait I am not in this category :).  I recently purchased a Lenovo T60 laptop for the company I work for, we use all IBM and lenovo and are still on Windows 2000 since things are stable and quick. of course all new laptops come with Vista or XP so I had to wipe that out and install Windows 2000.  All went well, i installed service pack 4, all updates and downloaded all drivers.  things seem fine with it except that the wireless card won't power on.  I see that Lenovo has added a feature like the Toshiba's have and that is a switch to shut off the card manually.  I have downloaded the correct 2000 driver, installed it, installed the IBM access connections and all seems fine except when the software tries to turn on the wireless card.  I can't contact Lenovo and get support because as we all know they don't support 2000, plus in all honesty I get better answers here. Does anyone have any ideas?

Please help before I break this thing with an ax  :)

which system update utility?  I have tried several of them already..

You may have to download the drivers individually. They are there - look harder.

When you installed 2000 os, you should install chipset driver (or IBM connector on older version IBM pc). Check in bios and make sure wireless is enable.

worked like a charm, the utility was a pain to find but once I did locate it and run it, low and behold everything worked like a charm.
