Hyperlinks in Outlook 2007 execute very slow. Copying the URL and pasting into IE7 gets immediately action and accesses site. A URL that is immediately accessible in IE7 may take 40-70 seconds to open when the link is clicked on in the email. I did a detect and repair but that didn't help. Rebooting doesn't help.
Flushing all temp files didn't make any difference. Outlook 2007 is not near as fast as Outlook 2003 in regular email handling but its the hyperlink execution that is really the problem. The color band at the top of the email window immediately starts moving but nothing happens until much later.
There are many postings on google about this same problem but none of the solutions seem to work. Microsoft has been less than useless on this problem.
This set-up is in my office at home.
OS is XP PRO, 2 gb memory, AMD3400, gigabit network with 16 port switch to a router then to a cable modem. Based on the poor performance of Office 2007, I only have it on 1 computer. The computers running Office 2003 and IE7 do not exhibit the speed problem.
I've exhausted my normal resources onfinding a fix.
