troubleshooting Question

Drawing over 3D game window running windowed or fullscreen mode.

Hi Experts.

Situation:
  I have running 3D game windowed or fullscreen mode.

Task:
  Draw something over the game window (e.g. current time).

History:
  I able to access that window by using sequence:
    EnumWindows
    Canvas := TCanvas.Create
    Canvas.Handle :=   GetDC(FoundWindow)
I do drawing by using timer every 5 mSec, but my drawing is not stable (flickering). I suppose that my drawing should be synhronized with game output or I have to draw in backbuffer.

Any solution?
