Backup problems with sbs2003
Hi Can anyone help,
Backup problems with an Sbs2003 server using its native backup,
Error as below
Backup started on 15/08/2007 at 23:05.
The requested media failed to mount. The operation was aborted.
The operation was ended.
Backup completed on 16/08/2007 at 04:09.
Directories: 6289
Files: 54478
Bytes: 26,834,055,120
Time: 5 hours, 4 minutes, and 19 seconds
----------------------
In the hardware list its lists the tape drive as a Benchmark Dlt1 vs80
The tapes we use are Maxwell dlt iv 40/80
Drive c: has used 32,5 Gb and the mailboxes are only using 2 Gb
Backup works fine if i run ntbackup and just back our 4 Gb data folder,
So it appears to be a tape space problem!
Any advice is appreciated
Mark

Can't help much with native backup.
I have had sooo many people get this wrong.
If the drive says 40/80 that means you can get and SEE up to 80 gb of compressed data on your tape.
I back up 120 gb of uncompressed data to a 35/70 tape every night.
===========
Try creating separate backups...the first one overwrites, the next two append.
