We have an HP3000 and running HP-UX 11.0 and Oracle 9i
We need to upgrade HP-UX 11.1 or 2 for iSCSI support.
Do we also need to upgrade oracle?
Note*** we have no support from HP or Oracle

Be very carefull about Oracle. You didn't specify what exact version you have 9.0.1 or 9.0.2, what patches you implemented. Patches you have on HP-UX are even more important. If it is Oracle 9.0.1 read this:

From HP-UX 11.0, you have to upgrade to 11i v1 (AKA 11.11) before upgrading to 11i v2 (AKA 11.23)
See the guides at http://docs.hp.com/en/oshpux11i.html#Installing%20and%20Updating - Select the appropriate one for your media set.

You will also need to install the 3 recommended patch bundles, downloadable from the ITRC; They will almost certainly include the recommended patches for Oracle 9i

Note that you'll probably need to resize your OS filesystems for the upgrade; This can be done by making an Ignite tape and then booting from the tape to "reinstall" HP-UX (retaining all your existing setup) and resize the filesystems at the same time. It's not as scary as it sounds, honest!
