Free\Busy viewable in Outlook 2003\Exchange 2003

Last Modified: 2008-03-15
Exchange 2003, Outlook 2003.  All users have Free\busy settings to 12 months (via a script that changed the registry).  All users showing the 12 months in Outlook.  problem is that some users only show 3 months of calendar entries, and the future months do not display (hash marks).

When we run the "outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy" at the desktop, the calendar then becomes viewable.  BUT, the next day it is unavailable again.  Could a GPO be doing this?  Any other ideas?

Thanks! Fred

Multiple Servers?

Check those users that are only showing 3 months of free/busy in Tools/Options/Calendar Items and click on the Free/Busy Options button.  Check to see how many months it shows in there to publish.  If it shows 12, but only 3 months are visible you may want to recreate the mail profile for one of the people affected to see if this corrects the issue.

If it shows 3, then you may want to check to see if these people are running a common login script that others may not.  I'm not sure if there is a GPO to make a change like this, but I don't think it's impossible.  Someone more versed on GPO's may be able to say for sure.
