Mapped Drive via Group Policy Logon Script Randomly Does Not Map
We have a logon script that is assigned via group policy. Most of the time it works ok, but lately users have been randomly missing one drive (it's the same drive every time). If they reboot it comes back. This has happened for all users and on all pcs, but it is not consistent and very hard to troubleshoot. Server is Win2003 Standard SP2 and all workstations are XP Pro SP2. Here is the logon script:
net use q: /DELETE
net use p: /DELETE
net use m: /DELETE
net use q: \\dfsroot\\data /YES
net use p: \\dfsroot\applications /YES
net use m: \\dfsroot\share /YES
net use q: /DELETE
net use p: /DELETE
net use m: /DELETE
net use q: \\dfsroot\\data /YES
net use p: \\dfsroot\applications /YES
net use m: \\dfsroot\share /YES
Any chance they have Thumb Drives plugged in while they boot, making teh letters not available??

AndrewJDavis,
We fiddled around with lots of different options, but once we decided to go with a vbs script the problem went away and never came back. No idea why it was happening, but the end goal is not to have the customer pay hundreds of dollars for me to tweak my batch file, but to make it work, quickly.
Thanks!

Thats correct. Sometimes you will never know why something happens as long as you know how to fix it. Glad to hear it is all working.
