Export exchange 2003 settings in sbs 2003

Is there any way to copy the settings in exchange 2003 which is part of my sbs2003, so that If needed I can reinstall sbs and then simply import my old exchange settings?

Not in conventional Exchange so I would imagine the same to be the case in SBS.
All important configuration is in Active Directory - the same place as your user information so as long as you have a plan to recover Active Directory you're relatively safe.
Now, have you got a plan to recover Active Directory?

I already have a full backup.(actually it is bugging but the only backup software included with sbs seems to b full backup!!)

Can I restore it on a different system, which has the same configurations and hdd size etc, but only the processor is 1.86Gz instead of 1.8 and also the FSB is 4MB instead of 2MB?

This wud allow me to check that the backup has restored pris stage or can I do a standalone restore on it to check everything went OK?
You can do anything you want with that backup. As long as the hardware is broadly similar you should be able to get something up and running.

What is your actual aim? Do you need to restore to a production server of lower spec or are you just testing your DR processes?
I have 2 reasons.

1) To check and ensure that my backup and restore will get me to my current system should there ever b a failure. If In the event that everything crashes I have a tested recovery system in place.

2) I want to have my server on a higher speed processor with more FSB.(Can I implement this by simply moving my sata HDD on which my server resides??)
1) Getting free copies of VMware, Virtual Server or Virtual PC would meet this requirement without spare hardware. You'll probably be fine but you'll need a beefy workstation.

2) Can be met by a variety of means. Luckily the SBS folk are prolific with their writing - if not their grammar lessons.

are two decent examples.
Pls excuse my need for simplicity, but cant one just move the HDD as all the other specs r the same only the processor speed and FSB are different??
You can by all means try. Personally I would give it a go if I had hardware RAID1 and I could just pop the disks and see how I got on. Remember, if you pull the disks and put them into the new server and something goes wrong you won't have a fallback position other than to recover the box.
As with all forums you can get all kinds of advice but there comes a point at the very end where you actually have to think and make a choice.
I have a spare sata hdd of the same capacity as the one which has the sbs. Is there any way I can Raid 1 it now and then try the method of swapping the disk to a new machine I mentioned without actually disturbing the working set up I have?
