fast user switching disabled by windows update

Hi I recently did an install of XP Pro  sp2, apart from the chipset/ motherboard drivers nothing else was installed.
After running windows update and restarting,  I find fast user switching has been disabled.
When I try to "change the way users logon "in control panel "  a message appears saying "a recently installed program has disabled fast user switching try un installing the program, for reference a file named
Gina2.dll was part of the program"
Is this a known problem and is there a MSKB article or fix for this?

Thanx for your time

Most commonly caused by Spftware VPN Clients, and Wireless Connectivity Applications (Intel Proset Wireless, Broadcom, anything that has the ability to login to the wireless prior to windows).

Cant explain why an update did it though....
