AfterUpdate equivalent event in VB.NET

Is there any event in VB.NET that is similar to the AfterUpdate event provided in VBA and VB6?  We want an event to fire when a control loses focus AND has been modified.  If I try to run this in the textchanged event, it runs after every keystroke.  If I use it in the LostFocus event, it cannot determine if the textbox has been modified and therefore I don't know if the information was changed.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!
