i set up an odbc for a sql server database object (system dsn)

the sql database is windows authenticaion mode.

the odbc dsn is also set for windows authenticaion.

does this mean that the logged in user running the query using that ODBC DSN needs to be set up as a user in the sql database object?  i want to make sure that unauthorized users will not be able to query using the ODBC DSN.
also, all sql user security/permissions associated with the user running the ODBC query will be applied?
