Server slows down after 3-4 hours of software usage

Dell Poweredge 1800, SBS 2003 Premier, 2 gig ram.
Server set for max peformance of Programs (not background services)
Running Timberline Software - uses Pervasive SQL.

In the morning the server is fine.  Around 1 pm it starts to get slower and slower.
It seems to deal with report printing.

Shutdown and restart fixes the problem.
Stop and start of Pervasive services SOMETIMES fixes the problem.

Did performance tuning of Pervasive (only use 45% of cache).

Some changes were made recently....so server is running okay for the moment.

PROBLEM:  I think the report printing is not releasing used memory or used cache memory.

Anyone have any other things to look at?

It seems reseting the server to process programs over background tasks...AND... the re setting of the  virtual memory, fixed the problem.

However,  I can use both ideas above as part of my knowledge base, so I will split the points.
