Splash Screen with scrolling dots

' Create an instance of the Form2 Windows Form.
        Dim MyForm As New MontlyUpdate
        ' Set the object reference that you declared in the
        ' Form2 Windows Form to the current instance of Form1.
        '  MyForm.ActiveForm.Show()
        ' Display the Form2 Windows Form.
        MyForm.Show()
        MyForm.Label1.Text = "Loading DM Please Wait"
        MyForm.Label1.Refresh()
        System.Windows.Forms.Application.DoEvents()

I would like to have a textbox or Label display scrolling dots  while my form is loading..

try to implement a timer. then every time the timer event is triggerred, change the text property of a label to your requirement. I would recommend a progress bar though.

Like so

 Dim Timer1 As New Timer
        MyForm.Timer1.Interval = 2
        Label2.Text = (Label2.Text & ".")
        Timer1.Start()

Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick
        Me.Timer1.Interval = 100
        If Me.Label2.Text.Length < 8 Then
            Me.Label2.Text = Label2.Text & "."
            Me.Label2.Refresh()
        Else
            Me.Label2.Text = "."
            Me.Label2.Refresh()
        End If

    End Sub
