HP All in One Storage 600, MSA 20 and Tape backup hookup and problems

I am trying to hook up MSA 20 and Autoloader with All in One StorageWorks 600. The problem seems to be MSA20. When I start it, the drives in front won't light up and is not recognized by AiO 600. I have added 6402 controller and trying to use the external SCSI ports on it to hook up both tape back up and MSA 20. At the moment I am trying to add MSA 20 first. Sometimes MSA 20 does turn on and it is recognized but most of the time it doesnot. HP diagnosed it as problem with the Controller Module in MSA 20 and sent a replacement but it still does the same thing. When I power MSA 20 up most of the time it has amber blinking LED on controller module.
Is there any specific way to connect these three devices and is there some kind of priority to be set up. Need your help soon. Thanks Guys

1) You may need to set SCSI IS's first.

2) Did you read the install docs from HP ?

3) Did you contact HP for support if this is new equipment ?

I hope this helps !

I have talked to HP. No help. They just sent me another controller module for msa20. Read the docs. The MSA20 becomes unresponsive when I start it up. Sometimes no hardrive lights are on and sometimes consistantly on. So AiO 600 detects the 6402 controller but says no drives present.
How do you set SCSI ID's
You are going to have to read the documentation on the MSA 20.

The documentation online and what came on cd is pretty trivial and it doesnot show any troubleshooting or details.

The tape drive (1/8 autoloader ) works fine with 6402 controller. For now I have removed it so that I can concentrate on whats wrong with MSA20. I will keep you guys posted with the updates. As for now what it does is when I switch on the MSA20 the LED on its controller flashes amber/green. I have tried re seeding  everything but it still flashes. This is the new controller that was sent. Sometimes instead of flashing amber/green and starts working and the green light comes on and when I look at the front of MSA20 the harddrives are all lit up but are not detected
Whether the autoloader works or not doesn't matter much, it's an unsupported configuration so a future firmware update may stop it from working.

Anyway certainly sounds like the midplane. There is a ribon cable going from it to the rear LED display that has the on/off switch - try reseating that. you could reseat the VRM at the same time, maybe it's loose. Really though I would ask them to send an engineer out or ask for a replacemet as DOA. I suppose it could be one of the PSUs, it will run on one so try with one and then the other.
Hi andalder  Whats a VRM?
Voltage Regulator Module, same as used on CPUs near enough. Maintenance and service guide is at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00248761/c00248761.pdf although as it's brand new I wouldn't do much without HP's say-so.
