2 places to put web pages

i'm installing apache, php and mysql on mac ox 10.4. i'm confused about something.

is there 2 places to put web files? when i go to http://localhost i get the apache web page. i put my files in /usr/path/myname/sites but that doesn't work with local host i have to put the ip address and my user name in.

so localhost pulls up another apache page? where would this be and where should i put my files?

there are 2 places to put web pages? i'm assuming i should put them in my sites folder? that would include phpadmin and everything?

right,  but where is the folder for localhost? i can't find it and it's not in my user folder right?

if i'm just doing php and mysql on this computer and not sharing it, wouldn't i then just user the localhost directory?

thanks for your help
tony
i think i just found it

/library/webserver/documents.

that's it? so i could install my web stuff there and use localhost?

thanks
tony
G'day,

Yep, but you can point it to anywhere you like, that's just the default location.

Try using the Server Admin>Web Server>Sites.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers,

Arthur
