Error unistalling Cisco VPN

I am trying to unistall my current installation of the Cisco VPN Client so i can install a newer version but everytime i try i get the following error:

Error 28000: Before installing the Cisco Systems VPN Client 5.0.01.0530. you must uninstall the previous version of Cisco Systems VPN Client, using the Add/Remove Program Files option in the Control Panel.  Then restart your system.

This is in Windows Vista Business

Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?

weird that link does not work for me?

1. Go to the VPN client directory (Program Files/Cisco Systems).

2. Look for the vpnclient.ini file.

3. Edit the file:
Remove Previous = 1
And:
DelayReboot = 1

4. Save the file.

5. Start the setup:
vpnclient.msi / quiet

6. At first it looks like nothing happened. Wait for around 5 minutes then restart the system.

7. After restarting the Cisco Systems VPN Client should already be properly installed. If not just try to repeat the process again.
