The firm I work for is currently struggling to deal with it's current backup solution, in the sense that it is far too slow.

The setup is as follows:

2 offices connected with a 10Mbps ethernet extension.
1 server in Office 1, 7 servers in office 2.
2 HP Ultrium SCSI drives connected to 2 servers running ArcServe and Windows Server 2000. Both of these servers run other services such as applications and mail.
Servers are connected via 100Mbps ethernet.

1 of the tapes backs up approx 380Gb worth of mail files (Lotus Domino), while the other backs up about 200Gb worth of files and other required files.

The problem is, the second tape is taking about 20 hours to finish, and tape 1 is taking about 30-40 hours to finish. This is hammering the performance of the servers during working hours. About 15Gb of data is being pulled over the 10Mbps link, so everything else is on the local lan

The firms policy is not to do incremental backups, so we have to backup the full whack every day.

Are there any other backup solutions out there which might benefit us, or are we expecting too much based on the amounts of data being backed up?
