PHP LAMP "oci_connect Undefined function " ??

Hi All
I have debian sarge with Apache 2 & PHP Version 5.2.0-8+etch7

I did check phpinfo and there is no reference to oracle. As I understand it I need to recompile with Oracle support I did install using apt-get, so is there a package or application that I can download that enables oracle support ?
Or what exactly should I do ?

Are you sure you need Oracle access? Your question title specifies "LAMP," which is an acronym for Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP.

Will you be accessing Oracle databases, or just MySQL databases?
