Hi all, I just bought a new battery to replace a dead notebook battery on my Compaq Evo N610c. The new battery came 70% charged already, so I wanted to completely discharge it. I vaguely remember reading somewhere or maybe someone told me that one should completely discharge any battery once to maintain its life. In any case, the 70% charge lasted about 2 hours and now the battery seems to be charging excruciatingly slow. It is charging basically every other second. It has been 40+ hours now and it is only up to 61% charge. I should also add that I am not using the original Compaq power adapter for the laptop, but a HP one. I need to know if it is a manufacturing defect of the battery so that I can send it back to the guys I  bought it from. Or is it because I let it completely discharge or is it because of using a HP power adapter for a Compaq notebook?
thanks
