I thought I had read somewhere that one could hide the identity of their browser.  I tried doing a quick search here and on Google but am not getting any relevant hits.

Basically, I'm wondering if there is a way to either have the browser not report what type it is to websites or to have it spoof itself as another browser.

I'm using Firefox on one PC and IE on another, so, if it's possible for either of these to do this, that's what I'd like to know.
