And been getting event logs while its doing the backup

Event ID 474:
Information Store (2472) First Storage Group: The database page read from the file "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb" at offset 2179239936 (0x0000000081e49000) (database page 532040 (0x81E48)) for 4096 (0x00001000) bytes failed verification due to a page checksum mismatch.  The expected checksum was 3776351401767392700 (0x34684b978964d5bc) and the actual checksum was 3481088657598881554 (0x304f4fb0c3d29f12).  The read operation will fail with error -1018 (0xfffffc06).  If this condition persists then please restore the database from a previous backup.  This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.

Please HELP!, I have been researching everywhere and cant find anything.

FYI - I'm getting the same errors on one of my servers.  I tried running various ESEUTIL options and ISInteg but nothing helped and the backups are still failing.  I too haven't been able to find anything, so my next step is to export everything out to PST files and rebuild the edb file from scratch.  (Which I'll do this weekend)
Another FYI - I don't know if this will be the same for you, but in my case the entire backup is void because of this error.  Try restoring some non-exchange data to an alternate location and see what happens.  It may fail.  So if you don't address this immediately, make sure you have an alternative backup.

(I just noticed you are using tapes...in my case it's a USB drive, which are much pickier about corrupt backup sets.  So odds are the rest of the data is fine.)

i dont have enough time to take the database offline...too many people need it.
If i use eseutil..then i might lose some data.
Is there any other solution there?
