Hi,

Proble details:

Client unable to login to lotus notes
Client getting error: Unable to open Name and Address Book (names.nsf), due to error 'File does not exist'. Locations cannot be used until the problem has been corrected
Client gets error as soon as she opens lotus notes
Client unable to click on file or any tool bar options as the error comes up and the tool bar is greyed out
When she clicks on ok to error notes shuts down

Please suggest solutions..

you need to reinstall the lotus notes client.

You may simply need to fix the notes.ini to point ot the correct data directory.
open it up and edit the data directory setting to point to where names.nsf is located.

Take backup of entire Notes folder.
Remove names.nsf and try opening it.
Also try editing notes.ini. After the first 4 rows in notes.ini file remove the rest of the lines. Save and try opening Notes now.

Notes needs to know where it can find the notes.ini file. So, yo start Notes correctly, you either have to start it in the Notes data directory (the default) or you have to add a parameter to the command line. An example:
   notes.exe =h:\lotus\notes\data\notes.ini

problem might be in your Notes.ini file... Do have a network setup that makes your Notes data directory different from ..\program files\notes\data ?

Looks like you Notes client cannot find the correct Notes.ini. We use a shortcut to launch Notes with the "start in" set to user's homedrive - where the Notes\Data directory is.
