Read Receipt shows twice
Running XP, and Outlook 2003. An end user is experiencing double read receipts. As the item shows in the inbox a read receipt shows up. Then when the user clicks on the item it asks again about the read receipt.
I have tested this. Sent user a delivery and read receipt. Shows up twice
Sent user a read receipt only and shows up twice. Once as soon as it is delivered to the mailbox, twice as the user clicks on the mail in the inbox.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this issue

If you go to Outlook > View > Reading Pane -- and set it to "off" -- does this problem still happen?

user is in cached exchange mode, removed local ost file, no difference.
removed outlook profile and recreated outlook profile, no difference.
ran detect and repair, prompted reboot, no difference after reboot.
The only resolution I have came across is to always send a response
Tools > Options > Preferences > E-Mail Options > Tracking Options > Always Send A Response
But the user wants to be able to say Yes or No to a Read Response.

Double Read receipts are caused by the Barracuda Outlook Plugin.
I have the same issue. If I uninstall the plug-in, Outlooks works normally. I have opened a case with Barracuda for them to investigate the issue.
