asked on

current time and network are different

I read thru some of the postings dealing with this issue, but haven't resolved it:

I've tried stopping the windows time service, changing the time by a minute, then restarting it.

I've also tried unplugging the networking connection & attempting to log in

I can't try some of the other suggestions because I can't log into the local machine.  This is a new problem - happened to 2 PCs last week & seemed to resolve itself.  Now it's 2 PCs today -- what else should i do?

Our outside consultant ended up resolving it for us.  I didn't know the local admin pswd, so he was able to set it remotely.  However, he didn't tell me how he did it.  Any idea of this is something you do remotely through Active Dir?  If you know, please let me know!!  I'll research it a little bit too.  Either way, I'm granting you the points for your suggestions - but I'll leave the question open for a day yet.  Thanks!

I just found this post on EE which seems to answer my question ...........

NJComputerNetworks:
To add on to what Luv2smile said:

Method 1:

1) logon to client workstation as administrator of the domain
2) Right Click MY Computer and choose MANAGE
3) Find the USERS folder and locate the Administrator account.  Right click this account and choose reset password.

Method:

From any computer logged on as Administrator- right click MY Computer and choose MANAGE....from here you can manage remote machines and reset the admin account.  Here you are doing everything from a central spot.
