How do I solve issues with opening add / remove windows components

Hi
I'm attempting to install the licensing server component in windows 2003 server, I can open add remove programmes in CP but cannot open add / remove windows components, each attempt i'm met with a "can't load wbemoc.inf error".  Reinstalling the file hasn't helped.  Any feedback / advice / workarounds would be very much appreciated.

Regards.

On the Windows Cd you should find a "tsoc.dll".
Copy the file into C:\WINDOWS\system32\setup

Does it help ?
You should find the file on your I386 folder on the CD in the "tsoc.dl_" format.
Use the EXPAND command to expand the DLL.

Hi GeoSs,

no luck unfortunately.  Pretty much tried everything.  Still the same error "setup was unable to open information file wbemoc.inf"  After tweaking the sysoc.inf file the error still displays but with another sysoc.inf entry.  Have backed up the file and replaced but still no go....... Any other tricks that you know of?

Cheers.
Can you post the content of sysoc.inf ?
Hi GeoSs,

Thanks for all your help but solved the issue a short time ago. Ended up editing the sysoc.inf file till all error messages disappeared.  sysoc.inf was being referenced for components that were'nt actually installed which was generating the errors, after removing irrelevant entries one by one the windows components option could be accessed.  One for the knowledge base i'd say as i didn't see much on the net regarding it.  Thanks again for your help and i want to give you the points anyway as your response times and input was fantastic.  Kind regards.

Glad you solved the problem and thank you for the points.
