Sender's messages getting bounced back
Sender: joe@xyz.com
Recipient: sam@abc.com
abc.com is one our clients and intermittently users are unable to send them a message. abc.com is running Exchange in house.
Example.
Everytime joe@xyz.com tryies to send a message to sam@abc.om joe gets the following bounce back.
-- The original message was received at Wed, 12 Sep 2007 12:38:10 -400 (EDT)
-- From intinamsmtp20.nam.pwcinter nal.com (10.26.104.87)
--
-- --The following addresses had permanent fatal errors
-- <sam@abc.om>
--
--- -Transcript of session follows
-- 451 4.3.5 Error getting LDAP results in map ldapmra: Cant contact LDAP server
-- <sam@abc.om> &Deferred: Name server: abc.om.: host name lookup failure
-- Message could not be delivered for 1 day
-- Message will be deleted from queue
The thing is... nobody else at xyz.com has a problem sending to sam@abc.com. Only joe@xyz.com
This is happening intermittently with a couple people at different companies.
Any ideas would be great.

abc.com does not run any spam filtering at the moment. We will be moving them to a solution shortly but as of now... no.
ZYX.com is actually PriceWaterhouse Coopers. I am not sure what they are running for email servers but I would image it is an enterprise solution. Exchange most likely.

Do you have any recipient filtering enabled on the Exchange ?

Why then are other users from xyz.com able to send mail to abc.com but this one particular user can not not?

This was never resolved. Thanks for trying.
Might be the SMTP relay server or the spam filter trying to do a LDAP lookup on the SAM@abc.com user and it fails to get a valid result.
What e-mail server is xyz.com running ?
