How to delete entries from AOL email address auto complete
Hello,
When I start to type an email address in America Online in starts the autocomplete process. I have some old email addresses that no longer exist coming up in the auto complete address field. I have removed these people from my address book but their names still come up. Anyone know how to delete them permanently from autocomplete?

when i open and log into the AOL software i click on write email. That brings up the blank email screen. In the TO field as i start to type an address it auto fills the rest of it. For example....i want to email john smith. John smith's old address is jsmith@old.com. His new address is jsmith@new.com. I have update my address book to reflect the new and correct email address...however when i type jsmith....AOL brings up the old reference. Then I have to delete the aut complete and type the correct address. Is there a way to delete the memory of the auto complete?
Can you highlight the bad email and click the Delete key? That should delete all unwanted emails one at a time.
In AOL 5 or 6:
1. Go to "My AOL"(v.5) or "Settings" (v.6) depending on the version of AOL that you are using;
2. Select "Preferences";
3. Click on "WWW" to open the window similar to Internet Explorer 5;
4. Go to the "content" tab and click on "Clear passwords" to clean out the preset passwords.
Privacy Keeper utility will erase all autocomplete data in your computer

Its not working and i'm not sure you understand my problem. When i start to type an email address it autofills similar to exchange/outlook. I need to delete that memory of remember addresses. I am not trying to delete my address book.

This solution doesn't jive with the way I see AOL working. I need to do the same thing for a client but the autocomplete appears to follow them around from computer to computer, independent of the browser.
I just installed AOL 9 for this guy and all his "incorrect" autocomplete email addresses are on this computer.
Anyone else have an idea how to solve this? I HATE AOL BTW.

Ok, this is easier than I thought. Simply get into the AOL address book and delete the incorrect entries. Apparently AOL auto-adds any email address you send to.
Where are you access this address? In any form field?
Highlight the address and hit the Delete key. Or hit Shift and Delete keys.
