Eventually tryed a derivation of one of comments on blog and worked - uninstalling components and running sql_tools. did not need to rename tools directory.

Issue installing MSSQL 2005 - I installed MSSQL Express Management studio on computer initally.<br />

Later I did a full installation of MSSQL 2005 - the Management Studio did not load - presumably because express version on.<br />

I have uninstalled express version and tryed to reinstall MSSQL 2005 from add/remove components - change and from the installation disc.<br />

Does not seem to provide an option to reinstall the Management studio functionality.<br />

MSSQL Express does not have scheduled backup which I need.<br />

This is on clients server and have an instance of MSSQL installed for Backup exec. so reluctant to uninstall and reinstall.
