How do I wipe out Blackberry 8800 Handheld?

I am referring to wiping the entire device.

I have tried many options to no avail. I tried,
Settings (Options) -> Security Options -> General Settings
but I cannot find the "Wipe HandHeld" on the above device.

I do not have the desktop software setup because this
handheld belongs to another user, and I want to completely
clear it so I can use it for another testing, thanks.

You need to push the wheel button and then the wipe option appears.

I hope this helps !

You can issue a kill or erase data and disable hanheld from the BES server.  That will do a wipe on the unit.  You will need to reactivate it through enterprise activation once completed.

SysExpert: Can you please give me a step by step on this one? Thanks

duffman76: As I Iindicated, the BES server has not been installed yet. The handheld I have is just for a rudimentary test first for the RIM network, then I will install the BES server later.

See the mode here: http://eu.blackberry.com/eng/devices/device-detail.jsp?navId=H0,C201,P403
a bit different from the other model regarding the track-ball (wheel button)

You said the desktop software was not installed you did not mention the BES those are seperate things.  To wipe the handheld go to options from the main menu, Security Options, General Settings, Click the options button or trackwhell and choose wipe handheld.

From the 8800 manual page 111

Delete all device data
Verify that you have a backup copy of your BlackBerry® device data.
CAUTION: If you have turned on content protection, the process for deleting all device data can take up to an hour to complete. You
cannot stop the process after you start it. If you reset your device, the process continues after the device restarts.
1. In the device options, click Security Options.
2. Click General Settings.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Wipe Handheld.
5. Click Continue.
6. Type blackberry.
