which will be better for a 3d station? P4 o Core2...

3.6GHz pentium 4 or a 2.13ghz core2duo?

I know its not ideal base (I normally specify the core2quads for 3d stations) but ive got the budget to upgrade the ram and graphics card in 1, and im pondering which one should get it...

Is there much in it? I understand overall 400mhz better with the core2... but am worried that certain applications (such as sketchup) only utilize one core...?

i don`t know if SketchUp is multi thread or not but you can send an email at info@sketchup.com and ask.

now, even if the application is singlethread i still think you should go with Core2Duo because:

- higher processing power
- newer architecture => lower power consumption
- an extra core  :)
