vbs script to synchronize offline files

I need a script that can ping or otherwise determine if the computer is in offline files mode.  Then either switch dfs servers or wait until the server is back up then initiate the synchronize offline files.

I don't know how to determine if the computer is in offline mode and how to initiate the synchronization.

I would see if it dependent on one of the Windows services ( synchroniztion maybe  ? )

If it is a service, there are plenty of progams in the Windows resource kit for detecting, stopping and starting services.

Also see

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspx

for lots of other great tools that may be useful.

I hope this helps !

What I need is a way through vbs to see if the files are in offline mode then a way to see when the computer comes back online and I can perform a synchronization through the script.

I don't know if there is a registry setting that changes when the computer goes offline.  When I say offline I mean just disconnected from the server not disconnected from the network or internet.  I know that when the computer is reconnected to the network the computer automatically synchronizes but this is different.

Features and functions in version 1.1 of the Client-Side Caching Command-Line Options command-line tool
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884739

It supports the switch /ISSERVEROFFLINE

syntax would be.....

csccmd.exe /ISSERVEROFFLINE:<\\server>

None of this really answers the question.  What you offer johnb6767 I have to call microsoft first.  I know there is a way, somehow, to programmatically see when a computer goes to offline mode.

Download it here, without a call to MS....

I was hoping there was a way to do it without having to install something on the client's workstation.
