Outlook startup error. C:\Program Files\SpamBlocker\Bin\4.8.4.0\Redemption.dll missing?
When opening up outlook I am receiving the following error message---> The add in "C:\Program Files\SpamBlockerUtility\B in\4.8.4.0 \Redemptio n.dll " could not be installed or loaded. The problem may be repaired by using detect and repair on the help menu. Unable to load " C:\Program Files\SpamBlockerUtility\B in\4.8.4.0 \Redemptio n.dll" You may be out of memory, out of system resources, or missing a .dll file.
-->>>If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated. I've already ran ad-aware on the machine and also went into tools-->options-->other--- >advanced options-->add Ins. I wasn't able to find this Redemption.dll file or any other add in.

Yes I am still able to open outlook with this error.
mbeatty200, disable the addon should fix your problem. But try the other steps also.

Are you able to open Outlook even with the error?
1. Reset the Outlook toolbar template. With Outlook close, do a search for and rename outcmd.dat file. Do the same for frmcache.dat and outlprnt files. Restart Outlook.
Outcmd.dat is located in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Applicatio
2. If no joy, register two important Outlook files. Go to Start > Run and type regsvr32 OLE32.DLL
Do the same for INETCOMM.DLL
3. If no joy, an addin could be interfering. If you have SpamBlocker addin, disable it. Disable all Outlook Addins. Go to Tools > Options > Other > Advanced Options > Addin Manager or COMM/Addins and disable the addins.
If you are not able to open Outlook, do a search for and rename extend.dat file.
4. Check if an external program running in the background is interfering with Outlook. Check Firewall, antivirus, antispyware, antispam, and all Norton programs. Disable these programs one at a time.
5. If no joy, create a new Outlook profile.

6. Repair Outlook. With Outlook open, go to Help > Detect and Repair.
7. If no joy, reinstall Outlook. Go to Add/Remove Programs and highlight Microsoft Office. Click on Install/Uninstall. A menu will pop allowing you to choose repair or reinstall.
Hope this helps, war1
