a) x+2y =4
b) 2x -3y =5

Convert a so that atleast x or y has the same number. Multiply a by 2 so a) becomes 2x+4y=8 ,  Now subtract a) , b)

2x+4y-2x+3y = 8-5
7y=3
y=3/7

if y=3/7 in  x+2y =4
x+(3/7)=4
(7x+6)/7=4
7x+6=28
7x=22
x=22/7
