I am trying to install a program into Microsoft Vista-Business Edition.  I have a patch for the program, but am finding it difficult installing the orginial program, so I can install the patch afterwards.  I am using my normal login.  Would logging on as an Administrator help, and if so, how would I do this.

What errors if any are you getting?
If it's because of admin rights.

    Give this a try...should work.

       1. Open Control Panel and click on "User Accounts and Family Safety".
       2. Click on "User Accounts".
       3. Click on "Turn User Account Control on or off".
       4. Un-check "User Account Control". Close the dialog box.
       5. You will be prompted to restart Windows. After restarting you will be able to remove the program.

If this does not solve your problem please post more info on the type of problem you're having.

It works.  Is it good practice to turn Turn User Account Control on or off.

You can turn it off when installing or removing programs but I would turn it back on once you complete your task. If you leave it off you'll be disabling some of Vistas built in security features.

    Glad it worked for you!
