Exchange 2003 installation error

i have just recently installed window server 2003
like to install exchange 2003, and was following exchange deployment processes. able to install nntp, smtp, asp.net, iis and ran dcdiag and netdiag however while in step 6 "run forestprep to extend the active directory schema for exchange server 2003........."  i am getting error "setup.exe - bad image"
The application or DLL C:\documents and settings............\Temp\SIT22642.tmp\exsetdata.dll in not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

Are you logged on to the schema master as a schema administrator ?

"The" administrator - or just "An" administrator
Check the MemberOf tab and make sure you are a schema admin as well

Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

its Administrator and nothing in member of...i created new use and added to domain admins, schema admins and tried still same problem.
but i can't see administrator on built-in user in A/D, what's the difference in Administrator and administrator?

That looks like a duff installation CD. I doubt if it is permissions based.

Definitly sounds like a corrupted ISO. Install Exchange 2003 from another CD.

and its not iso file, it was zipped and i unzipped and saved in C drive

Where did the file come from?
Off the Microsoft distribution web site?
Try unzipping it on another machine and accessing the installation from there.

Are you flushing out your temporary files before you try the process again?

you mean delete manually from this location by selecting all the files!

We are still trying with the old files.  Please get a new Exchange 2003 Media or an ISO or any other Exchange 2003 Install Source and your install should be successful.

I mean manually remove everything from the temp folders. Windows is notorious for not cleanup behind itself so I am wondering if it keeps using the same file because it is already there.
