Hi Sembee,

Please help me understand:

Do you mean that Exchange 2000 is not compatable with NT domain ?

Thx.

Hey Simon, some of us just love the old stuff...  :)

But Sembee is correct, it does bring to question why your systems are 8years behind the curve.  I can understand if there are proprietary applications on your network that require Windows NT.

To answer your question shera...

Exchange 2000 requires Active Directory as it writes data directly into the Active Directory Database.  If you do not have Active Directory (which Windows NT did not have), then you cannot use Exchange 2000.  As Sembee pointed out, you can have a successful implementation of Windows Server 2000/2003 running Active Directory that does support NT Member servers.

Hi saige,

Thx for the insight.

I know we are way behind the curve with old technology :)

I want to replace our current NT Domain Controller with a new 2000 Domain Controller. I have already got the new 2000 Server with AD configured. I also have a 2000 Exchange Server confgured to work with this noew 2000 Server with AD.

My problem:
Move emails from the current Exchange 5.5 to the new 2000 Exchange

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi saige,

The links you sent assumes that Exchange 5.5 is already installed on 2000 AD which is not the case in my set up.
