I would install the printers on the server on their appropriate tcp/ip ports. Then share them. From each PC you can go start --> run and type in \\servername. From there you can select which printers you want to add right click them and click connect.

Hope this helps

i have  a small summery in my mind kindly tell me if i am wrong anywhere i.e:-
1) we can put printers any where but it should be connected to lan network throgh cable ?and then through cd of that printer we can install it on server . ( can we do like this)
2) is it necessary to install a printer on any machione like server , can it be done by just giving an ip address to the printer ?and join it in lan network ,and it start working.?
3) i have cd1120_dc2120 printer and hp  l7600 printer, i want to put them in network  , how can i do that ?
kindly suggest
regards

Plug the printers into the network. Assign them IP addresses. Then install the printer one by one using the add printer wizard on the server machine. Install them as local printers but do not automatically detect. Then when asked which port to use create a new tcp/ip port. add the Ip address that you assigned it. Complete the wizard. Share the printers that you added. Go to the PC that you want to add the printers to and go start --> run \\servername click Ok. right click the printer/s you want to add and click connect.

1) yes
2) Yes it is necessary to install the printer on a machine, otherwise you will not be able to print to it. It is easier if you install the printer on the server and share it from the server. No it will not just start working if you assign it an ip address. It must be installed on at least one machine. You can install it on every machine as a local printer, but again it is easier to install it on the server and share it to all other workstations.
3) I do not know the exact procedure for those specific models but they should all be very similar to each other. Most network printers you assign an IP address through either a console on the printer or through a web interface built into the printer. Refer to the printers documentation for the exact procedure.
