We are using Red Hat Linux5 as a database server for Oracle db for datawarehousing project.
The data for the warehouse will be coming from many users in csv format and stored on a windows server. we need to FTP the csv data files from windows server to linux server (say at the end of every month) so that the oracle warehouse builder can pick up the data from the specified path (on linux server).
this ftp needs to be automated.

    Hello ngazge,

The windows commandline FTP takes a script parameter which allows you to automate your upload.

    ftp -s:upload.txt redhat.localdomain

    In upload.txt:
    USER xxxx
    PASS xxxx
    CD /upload
    MPUT *

You could run this using the default windows sheduler.

In addition, before the ftp command, don't forget to cd to the location on the windows box where the source file(s) is/are. Then you may want to add PROMPT before MPUT * so that all files are transferred without prompts.
