Hi, I have a Freecom DLT VS80 Drive. The problem I am having is that the Clean/Media light flashes even after cleaning it and also resetting the cleaning stats in Backup Exec.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a more serious problem with the drive. I am having no problems backing up with this device

    Assisted Solution

either there is a problem with the data tapes, cleaning tape, or the drive

    Accepted Solution

When HP DLT drives get in this sort of state they can usually be fixed by running the cleaning tape four times in succession to perform a "full" clean. Not sure if the same will apply for a Freecom but just my 2d. HTH.
