Invalid buffer received from client

I have just moved both my webserver and DB server to new hardware. After the move I get a lot of messages like this in the SQL server error log:

Error: 17805, Severity: 20, State: 3
Invalid buffer received from client.

I have searched a lot and some forums state that it might be a MDAC problem but both web server and DB server runs version 2.82.3959.0

The error is rappening pretty random... sometimes you get it and sometimes not.... a reload of the web page usually turns out ok....

How the he.. do I debug that and does anyone have a clue about what it could be?

Do you have any virus scanner installed. If not install one.

Well well well, Both articles tells me that I should upgrade to the latest SP.
the problem is that this error occured after I have upgraded from the RTM version to the SP4 (just checked that).

Now, I really don't want to downgrade to the RTM again because of bad performance of that version.... plus it really feels stupid :-)

    Accepted Solution

    hi again

I installed an old TRM version of the SQL server on another server and uses that for this database....
So the solution was to DOWNGRADE to an older version.....
