are you able to print the file if it is saved to the drive first?

if its asking for a filename when printing it sounds like you don't have a printer configurd on the XP machine. Go to START->Settingd->Printers and Faxes and make sure that you have a "real" printer configured and it is the default printer.

What versions of Outlook and Adobe PDF Reader are you using?

If possible ensure you are on the latest version of PDF Reader (Version 8)

Hi looking back at the first suggestion offered>>zephyr_hex:>>>>are you able to print the file if it is saved to the drive first<< could you respond to this suggestion.

this woudl determin if its an issue with this PDF as an attachment which is always risky opening directly from an email.
But if saved to the desktop first can you then print it?
could be if the email was forwarded on/ the source was not loaded properly into the email.

thanks for clearing that jeffsteffy, yes its puzzling why she cant print from it then.
Agree with SheharyaarSaahil, repair Adobe, in Adobe  Choose Help > Repair Acrobat Installation.

seems something is blocking it since she gets this error>>output print file name, sounds liek an encryption of sorts
Could she check her task manager whats running. Is her pc using 100% cpu at this time?
Can she open the attachment  saved  on the desktop in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader, choose "Print" from the File menu then?
In the settings Check the "Print as Image" option in the Print dialog is set.

I also found this small edit at Adobe ask an expert:
From the application,  hit print and and choose the "Adobe PDF" as the printer. It generates the file into pdf and opens the document in Acrobat. close Acrobat and send the file as an attachment.
