Microsoft Exchange 2003 OWA - "KnownContentTypes" Registry Change to remove "audio/x-wav"

We have an issue with email .WAV attachments NOT being viewable within Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web Access which are sent from our internal Phone System Voicemail Forwarding which is seen as "audio/x-wav" content.

I would like to know if we can remove the "audio/x-wav" entry from the "KnownContentTypes"= while the Server is up and running without causing Microsoft Exchange 2003 to crash?

    Accepted Solution

Use the OWA ADMIN Tool which is a free download from Microsoft. That will allow you to change the OWA configuration without causing any problems with Exchange and no reboots of the server required.
