D-LINK DWL-G510 won't connect to DSL-G604T router

Hello, I have a D-Link DSL-G604T wireless adsl router which I ooriginally conntected to using a D-Link DWL-G122 USB wireless adapter.  It has always worked with no worries but I decided to install a PCI DWL-G510 adapter.  The problem is that the computer recognizes the adapter without problem but  cannot connect to the router.  However, when I plug in the USB adapter the computer immediately connects to the router and subsequently the Internet.  Any reasons (and solutions) as to why?  Thanks in advance for your troubles!  I'm running Windows XP pro SP2 by the way.

Did you see the PCI adapter in device manager? if so, what is status?

ASKER

Thanks for taking the time to view my problem.  The device manager can see the PCI card and says that everything is fine...I don't think it's a hardware problem...it just won't connect to the router

Thanks PUNKY for the advice...it was the firewall not allowing it to connect.
