OFFLINE vs ONLINE defragmenting Active Directory database

2) What is the DIFFERENCE between OFFLINE defragmenting Active Directory database and ONLINE defragmenting AD database?

Online degrag is done automatically every 12hrs - you dont need to do anything.
You can do an offline defrag but it should not really be necessary, unlike on-line it will reduce the file size so may occasionally be useful if you have deletes a load of stuff
