Visual Basic Calling Conventions For DLL

Trying to call a "C" DLL with Visual Basic.  Attempting to pass array by reference.  Receiving a "Bad DLL calling  convention" error.  Tried using "@" to define call by reference.  VB listed as bad syntax.  Many references in MicroSoft Help to "FoxPro.  Don't understand.

let me recommend you visit this site:
http://vb.mvps.org/hardcore/

On the contents (left side), click
Chapter 2

then "Calling the Windows API from Basic"

then "Anatomy of a DLL procedure call"

This should tell you all you need to know about calling DLL's from VB and is a great reference for pre-dotnet Visual Basic.
