I just received a DLT-7000 tape drive and I got it plug in the computer and the computer see it just fine. When I went to load the tape in the drive it only went in half of the way it seems like. The tape is flush with the drive but I need it to go in all of the way so the flap will close and the handle will lock so I can try using the tape. All I have a a green flashing light that stands for oparate handle.  I have not a clue how to undo (unjammed) the tape from the drive. I have spent sometime looking on Compaq site and google for the manual on the drive.

Any help is well come.

Thanks,

Thomas

The flap does not close when the tape is in, you have it in the correct position by the sound of it. Now operate the handle.
