VPN Client 4.8 - Error:DNE

Running an Windows XP SP2 machine attempting to install VPN Client 4.8. Didn't realize that it was already installed. After running the install again I am getting the folloing error message. " Install DNE - Error: DNE installation requires a reboot first. Please run this install again after restarting the computer." I have restarted the computer and tried to restart the installation several times coming up with the same error.

What am I missing?

I have had a few similar problems with Cisco VPN.  I assume you're talking about the Client.  The only way to get around it is to manually uninstall it, reboot, and the try install again.
I only have uninstall instructions for 3.5 but they have worked for me.  A few of the reg keys may be slightly different but you can still remove enough to give it a fresh install.

Tried the steps indicated in the link. But still getting the same probelm error message.
I managed to find this.  Should be worth a go.  It is from Deterministic Networks.

1) Uninstall the Cisco client.
2) Reboot
3) Go to our website at www.deterministicnetworks.com and download the Traffic Governor demo.
4) Install and reboot - you don't have to run the application.  This will upgrade DNE to the latest version.
5) Reinstall the Cisco VPN client.  It will just install the Cisco plugin - it won't install an older version of DNE.

That email is from DNE.com support..
