Need help installing audio driver

I have 2 hp compaq dc 7700's w/ xp pro that I cannot get the audio to work on

When I goto control panel- sounds and audio- everything is greyed out- it says no audio device

I have already sent to the hp 7700 driver website http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3232101&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=3232028&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1093#113165

I installed the audio driver and the update

In Device manager under sound, video, and game controllers everything appears to be installed just fine

under "other devices" there are three items with question marks-  PCI Device, PCI simple communications controller, and unknown device

I have tried everything that I know, please someone help me install this audio driver.

THANKS

First you need to install chipset drivers, then all PCI drivers that provided in HP support website.

PUNKY is correct. Chipset drivers first. Since you have an Intel chipset, here's the Driver Installation Order they recommended.

Installation & Configuration Order

1       Fresh Operating System Installation
2       Latest Service Pack or Patch
3       IntelĀ® Chipset Software Installation Utility (INF Utility)
4       All other device drivers
5       IntelĀ® Application Accelerator if needed
6       Microsoft* DirectX* 8.0 or higher

Yes, what needed to be done was install some driver they did not put on the website under HP 7700

The driver is named- sp32395

You can find it on the web or on the HP Website.  Thanks for your help though, everyone pointed me in the right direction then I called hp support (very helpful this time) and they gave me the right info.  thanks again.
