KVM over IP for SUN E3500, E3000.

Dear All,

i have a situation in which i want SUN E3500, E3000 servers to access (manage) remotely & planned to use IP based KVM.

--------- at this time i have "4x1x16 HP IP console Switch".

but the actual problem is that how to connect these servers with KVM cuz KVM cables have standard VGA port connector and SUN E3500 & E3000 have 13W3 VGA connector.

--------- so I did some R&D on it and found a converter on internet
&  detail is following

PART NUMBER::::::  13W3M-15HDF
Description::::::::::::  13W3 SUN VIDEO PORT to STND VGA PORT

but i m not gonna buy it until i m sure that it works....

and now begins the actual problem

NOW it looks simple that i put KVM VGA port into this connector back side and other side to SUN VGA port.

BUT I m not sure about resolution of VGA cuz SUN has high resolution monitors - is it possible to see same view on normal standard monitors.

So any one have any ideas related to this ~ are welcome. if u have any other KVM over IP device for SUN servers so please advice or if you are sure about my work that it will work - so give your ideas

waiting ............

I hate to say it but your best bet is probably to just try it. I have used the adapters in the past with mixed results due to the fact that 13W3 was used by different vendors with different pinouts (Sun, SGI, IBM). If you get a "13W3 Sun" adapter it should work as long as the monitor on the KVM supports the resolution and frequency that the graphics card is putting out.

OK dears -

as i got short time for this project so i have to do this on time so at last i found .....................

I found ATEN's CV130A interface converter @ http://www.aten-usa.com/?product&cat=23&Item=CV130A.

and they are giving me demo to assure me that any resolution thru SUN VGA will work on their KVM / Converter.

so NOW i m gonna close this QUESTION
